Info
There are three basic goals for treatment: Feelings, Defenses & Changes.

Chemical Dependency Clients learn how the behaviors that accompany this disease make their lives unmanageable and out of control. Once the clients are able to take an honest look at the consequences of their substance use we teach them how to live a substance free life and start dealing with everyday issues. Clients attend daily 12 step programs,
e.g. Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotic Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous and how to use these support programs for long term sobriety.

Relapse Prevention Getting sober is only part of the treatment focus at Archstone. The client and staff explore the client’s individual stressors that trigger craving for substances. Clients develop coping skills to stay sober and learn how to identify warning signs and situations that place them at risk. Clients improve their problem solving/decision making skills.

Trauma Resolution and EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven successful treatment for both Acute and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. EMDR is also highly effective in the treatment of sexual, physical, emotional, spiritual abuse, neglect, generalized anxiety and panic disorders, phobias, and depression. Our staff hold the highest level of certification in EMDR.

Family Systems Therapy Chemical dependency is a disease that affects more than the person using drugs or alcohol, it affects entire families. We teach our clients how chemical dependency destroys relationships and how to rebuild these relationships. Family system groups focus on issues such as co-dependency, family roles, and Adult Children of Alcoholics issues.

Spirituality Spirituality is a non religious treatment focus having to do with the client’s relationship with self, others and a higher power. Clients explore their values, boundaries, self esteem, self image and positive social interaction. Improved spirituality reduces stress, anxiety, and other stressors that lead to the negative feelings associated with relapse.

Religion Clients may attend religious services of their choice. Bible study is also an option.
