Moira Howard, B.S., Therapist
Moira received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and is continuing her education at Palm Beach Atlantic pursuing a Masters in Mental Health and Counseling. Starting her career in substance abuse at Hanley Center, a residential women's center for recovery, Moira was able to work with dual diagnosis, mental health, and addiction cases. Before coming to Archstone, Moira also worked for the Unity Recovery Center with adolescence and adults. Working at Unity was a valuable experience for Moira in her career as she was able to increase her knowledge, skill and strengthen the dedication she has for the field. Areas that specihcally interest Moira in Counseling are education, family, health, and overall spirituality. Moira is dedicated and passionate about assisting others in their recovery process from addiction here at Archstone.
Sally Gallen Sweeney, Admission Coordinator
Sally, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, attended Pennsylvania State University where she earned her Associates of Arts Degree. Sally moved to West Pahn Beach, Florida in July of 2006, and began her journey in the
field of Recovery. She is a member ofthe Palm Coast Area Hospitals and Institutions Committee. She has served as a facilitator at the Women's Drug Farm for the past three years, and as a House Manager at The Hope House, a women's transitional living facility in the West Palm Beach area Sally is passionate about helping men and women to "live the dream." In her position as Admissions Coordinator, she encourages clients to take a leap of faith and come to Archstone to obtain the guidance, education and tools necessary to live a life free from alcohol and chemical dependency.

Diane Rowe, Administrative Asst.
Diane was bom and raised in Chatham Twsp., New Jersey and began her medical
career as a Nurses Aid in New Providence, New Jersey. She also served
in a Coronary Unit as an EKG monitoring Technician Supervisor.
She then married, raised her family and relocated to the West Palm Beach
area in 1993, and then became an Office Manager for a Dental Implant Manufacturing
Company. She continued her education and was promoted as Human Resource
Director for a staif of over 60 employees. Now, as Administrative Assistant,
Diane oversees the operation of all of Archstone Recovery Center's Facilities
and personnel. Her background in medicine, human resource and facilities
management gives her the unique ability to coordinate the many multi functions
to promote recovery, healing and growth of the clients at the Center,
as well as encourage the staff to meet their professional goals and objectives.
Carlos Farina, MS
Safety Officer Group Facilitator
Carlos served as a Broward County Sherriffs Officer for thirty years
prior to retiring. Carlos has always be dedicated to assisting those who
seek recovery, especially those who have the added pressure and responsibility
of serving the community. Carlos provides individual and group therapy
to our clients that hold positions as public servants, e.g. Police
Officers, Fire Fighters, EMT;s and Correction Officers. Carlos received
his Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from St. Thomas University
in Miami, FL and was certified as a D.A.R.E Officer. He is presently in
the process of receiving his Drug and Alcohol certification with the Florida
Certification Board.
Andrew McGookin, Facility Operations Manager
Andrew McGookin grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Florida 14 years
ago where he has worked in almost every aspect of the construction business.
Andrew worked as a construction manager for Toll Brothers Inc. for several
years building homes from the ground up. His experience and training has
been beneficial in his position as the Facility Operations Manager for
Archstone Recovery Center. Andrew prides himself on the every day
maintenance and appearance of our community.
Dr. Harold Schwarz, M.D., P.A.
Medical Director
Dr. Schwarz is a prominent physician/psychiatrist in the South Palm Beach
mental health community. Having attended school at Columbia University,
Manilla University and New York University's School of Medicine Dr. Schwarz
has focused on substance related disorders and mental health issues. Besides
his position as medical director at Archstone Recovery Center, he is the
Section Chief for the Psychiatry Department at Good Samaritin Hospital
in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Sandra Salsburg, M.ED., LMHC

EMDR Consultant
Sandra Salsburg, M.ED., LMHC has worked in theMental
Health field for 20 years. She received her undergraduate degree from
Michigan State University and worked several years in the Michigan and
Florida school systems, prior to receiving herMaster Degree in Counseling
from Florida Atlantic University. Sandi is licensed by the state of Florida
as aMental Health Counselor. Her counseling career includes a private
practice in counseling individuals and couples, conducting seminars in
stress reduction and communication skills, heading theWest Palm Beach
postal service committee to prevent workplace violence, as well as doing
volunteer work with Crisis Line, and with juvenile offenders at the Palm
BeachMarine Institute. Sandi has achieved Level 2 Certification from the
EMDR Institute. EMDR (EyeMovement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is
a proven successful treatment for trauma. Because of this specialty, Sandi
was asked to work on the staff at a dual diagnosis substance abuse treatment
center, and in 2001, she joined the treatment team at Archstone. Sandi
was promoted to Clinical Director in 2002, however her passion remains
working with trauma victims. This has included those suffering with PTSD
– servicemen and veterans, victims of 911, FEMA, medical professionals,
police and firemen. Trauma has affected many of the clients who come to
treatment, people with unresolved grief issues, or who have been victims
of rape, physical, mental, or emotional abuse, all of which can be triggers
for substance abuse. Sandi has combined her training in EMDR with Rapid
Reduction Therapy (RRT) to help clients reprocess childhood and adult
issues that have caused depression, anxiety, panic disorders phobias,
and anger management problems. Sandi's special abilities are a pivotal
part of our program to treat the whole person, not the just the disease.
