Sheila D.Wenck, MA, CAP, CMHP is the Chief
Executive Officer of Archstone Recovery Center, Inc. She has a career spanning
nearly two decades in the Chemical Dependence/Mental Health Field and her
continued goal is to implement a clinical program that generates excellent
recovery rates. She earned her BA (1987) and herMA (1988) in Psychology from
Ball State University in Indiana. Her position titles have included EAP Counselor,
Outpatient Counselor, Inpatient Counselor, Supervisor of Outpatient Services,
Supervisor of Inpatient Services, Residential Director, Director of Medical
Admission Program, Director of Substance Abuse Services and Clinical Director.
She has designed and implemented treatment programs based on her belief that
people who suffer with the disease of addiction really want to get well and
live happy, productive lives.Ms.Wenck is presently a Certified Addictions
Professional (CAP) (1992); an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug
Counselor (ICADC) (1997); and a CertifiedMental Health Professional (CMHP)
(2006).Well established in her field, her Professional Memberships have included:
ICAADA (Indiana Counselor Association of Alcohol & Drug
Abuse); FADAA (Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association) and the NAADDAC
(National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors): She is listed
in the 2005-2006 Edition of National Register’sWho’sWho in Executives
and Professionals. Today,Ms. Wenck, as Chief Executive Officer of Archstone
Recovery Center, Inc., puts into practice what she has always felt: “We

Earl R. Reichard, MS, LMHC, CAP

Earl R. Reichard,MS, LMHC, CAP has
worked in theMental Health/Substance Abuse field for more than 20 years.
After serving in Vietnam, he attended college to work with veterans suffering
from addiction and mental health disorders. He received his undergraduate
degrees from the University of the State of New York and Springfield College.
He has aMaster’s
Degree in Counseling Psychology/Marriage and Family Therapy from Palm Beach
Atlantic University and is pursuing his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from
California Southern University. Earl is an Associate member of the American
Psychological Association. He has held memberships in the American Counseling
Association, National Academy for Family Therapist and the National Association
of Drug and Alcohol Counselors. He is licensed by the State of Florida as aMental
Health Counselor and is a state qualified supervisor. He is also certified
as a drug and alcohol counselor by the Florida State Certification Board and
the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium. He has had several
articles published on addiction and relapse prevention and has appeared as
a Family Communications expert on the television production “Healthwise.”
Sandra Salsburg, M.ED., LMHC

Sandra Salsburg, M.ED., LMHC has
worked in theMental Health field for 20 years. She received her undergraduate
degree from Michigan State University and worked several years in the Michigan
and Florida school systems, prior to receiving herMaster Degree in Counseling
from Florida Atlantic University. Sandi is licensed by the state of Florida
as aMental Health Counselor. Her counseling career includes a private practice
in counseling individuals and couples, conducting seminars in stress reduction
and communication skills, heading theWest Palm Beach postal service committee
to prevent workplace violence, as well as doing volunteer work with Crisis
Line, and with juvenile offenders at the Palm BeachMarine Institute. Sandi
has achieved Level 2 Certification from the EMDR Institute. EMDR (EyeMovement
Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven successful treatment for trauma.
Because of this specialty, Sandi was asked to work on the staff at a dual
diagnosis substance abuse treatment center, and in 2001, she joined the treatment
team at Archstone. Sandi was promoted to Clinical Director in 2002, however
her passion remains working with trauma victims. This has included those
suffering with PTSD – servicemen
and veterans, victims of 911, FEMA, medical professionals, police and firemen.
Trauma has affected many of the clients who come to treatment, people with
unresolved grief issues, or who have been victims of rape, physical, mental,
or emotional abuse, all of which can be triggers for substance abuse. Sandi
has combined her training in EMDR with Rapid Reduction Therapy (RRT) to help
clients reprocess childhood and adult issues that have caused depression,
anxiety, panic disorders phobias, and anger management problems. Sandi's
special abilities are a pivotal part of our program to treat the whole person,
not the just the disease.
Addie "Buddy" Owens, B.A. Counselor

In 1996, having a Bachelor's Degree inMinistry, from Palm Beach Atlantic University, "Buddy"
started a church that ministers to alcoholics and drug addicts, which he still leads today. Buddy has
worked in the substance abuse filed at Anon Anew, The Present, and Pathways treatment centers. He served
for more than 5 years on five different Board of Directors: the Drug Abuse Foundation of Palm Beach County,
theMental Health Association of Palm Beach County, Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, Delray Beach Rotary Club,
and Crossroads Club of Delray Beach. He is a graduate of Leadership Delray and past president of the Delray
Beach Rotary Club. Buddy came to Archstone inMarch of 2004 as coordinator of the Christian track, and joined
the staff as a counselor in August 2004. Besides counseling clients and facilitating 12-step recovery groups,
which included family systems groups, Buddy, an ordained minister, also provides the clients with an optional
Bible study class.
Joe Miller Counselor

After attending the University of North Carolina and atWidener University,
Joe became a professional baseball player in the Houston Astros Organization.
Following a professional career in baseball, Joe worked 22 years at the GlenMills
School for juvenile offenders, in GlenMills, Pennsylvania, first as a counselor/teacher
head baseball coach, and later in the school's administration as a team leader.
Prior to coming to Archstone, Joe was the managing director of a half way
house in South Florida. Joe has a special rapport with the younger clients
at Archstone and has an important role in promoting team unity through recreational
activities such as softball, volleyball and basketball, which is his passion.
Joe is Archstone's out-patient Therapist, and facilitates weekly out-patient
group sessions.
Mark Williams, LMHC, CAP

Mark Williams has worked in the substance abuse and mental health treatment
fields for more than 10 years. He received his undergraduate degree from
Florida State University and has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology
from Georgia Southern University. He is licensed by the State of Florida
as aMental Health Counselor and is a Certified Addictions Professional through
the Florida Certification Board. In addition, he is a level II EMDR therapist,
a Diplomat of the American Board of Clinical Sexology, a Certified Clinical
Sexologist, a Certified Clinical Supervisor for LMHC’s, and an Assessor
for Florida’s Batterer’s Intervention Programs. His position
titles have included EAP counselor, Program Director, Clinical Director,
Divisional Director, and Director of Admissions. His clinical experience
and experience in admissions at other world class treatment centers are valuable
in his role as Director of Admissions at Archstone Recovery Center.
Rick Owens, CBT

Rick Owens was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA., where he spent most
of his life. Rick served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. After
receiving an honorable discharge, he completed a program in Business Administration
at Beaufort County Community College in North Carolina. Rick joined
the Philadelphia Fire Department and was trained as an Emergency Medical
Technician (EMT). After retiring from the fire department, Rick came
to Archstone Recovery Center and worked as a Counselor Assistant. He
received certification as a Behavioral Technician (CBT) by the Florida Certification
Board. Rick was promoted and is now the Director of Operations. He
is responsible for overseeing the administration and maintenance of properties,
vehicles, and supplies.
Thomas DeBartolo

A native Floridian, Thomas entered the military after graduating high school
in 1988, successfully completing a four year tour with the United States
Navy. A veteran of the 1990 gulf war, he carried out duties as a supply specialist,
as well as being a member of both the ship’s armed security force and
fighter fighting party. During his service he earned a Navy Unit Commendation
Ribbon, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two stars
and a Desert Shield / Desert Storm Letter of Commendation, before being honorably
discharged in 1992.
Shortly after completing military service he went on to attend college,
earning an AA degree in Human Services from Palm Beach community college
in 1997, and his Bachelor’s of Science in Family and Child Development
in 1999 from Florida State University. During his time at Florida State he
served as a peer advisor for two semesters with the College of Human Sciences,
as well as working as the office manager and intake counselor for one of
Florida State’s counseling facilities, The Center for Marriage and
Family Therapy, being the first person to hold that position as a paid staff
member after completing an internship with them in 1999.
After two years with the Center for Marriage and Family Therapy, Thomas
went on to attend graduate school at the University of Central Florida in
Orlando, completing his first year towards a master’s degree in clinical
social work. While at UCF, Thomas completed internships with two youth programs,
Covenant House of Florida and The Center for Drug Free Living’s Adolescent
Therapeutic Center.
Since returning to the West Palm Beach area, Thomas worked as a juvenile corrections
officer and later as a case manager for the only level ten girls’ juvenile
corrections facility in the state The Florida Institute for Girls, until it
closed in August of 2005. He later joined the staff at Archstone Recovery Center
in March of 2006, and is hoping to return to school this fall to complete his
masters degree at Florida Atlantic University.
